Wastebook 2012 – Proof!
Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) released his
Wastebook
2012 which outlines wasteful federal policies. The cost to
taxpayers? How about in excess of $19 billion dollars a year! This 200
page document is excellent!
Here’s just a few highlights:
- Professional sports organizations like the NFL, NHL and PGA are non-profit. Also known
as a sports loophole, this prevents them from paying $91 million in
taxes. Remember who built the stadiums?
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, also known as “Food Stamps”. $4.5 billion
dollars worth of these SNAP coupons made their way for alcohol, junk
food and condoms.
- Free cell phones and service. From 2011 to 2012, enrollment grew 43 percent to 16.5 million
participants. It’s easy. Cost $1.6 billion.
- Moroccan Pottery Classes – kind of helps out our international policy – $27 million
Click on the Wastebook link above and sample these for yourself. As
April 15th approaches, take a moment to think of where your
hard-earned dollars are ending up.
