New Year’s Eve-Dropping the Ball!
Dropping the ball. It means a lot more this year than most. The news today that our
government could not come to terms is not completely unexpected, but it
is disappointing. 2013 will surely provide a lot of excitement as it
appears that history will repeat itself, as least as government is
concerned.
New Year’s Eve is a day that brings about reflection – remembering those that passed,
setting goals for the year and spending time with family. We lost some
real special people. Neil Armstrong was more that just the first person
to step on another celestial body. He also flew the x15 close to 4000
mph and over 39 miles above the earth. He proved that dreams could be
achieved. Two people that had an effect on me personally were Jeff
Zaslow – author of The Last Lecture and Ron Morris, a very special
Pittsburgh Entrepreneur and a person that always had a soft spot for
Veterans.
Many people will set goals (as will I) and do their best to keep them. As
Americans, we are fortunate. There are many around the world that would
give anything to have the problems we have. The cliff will eventually
be worked out as will many of the other challenges we face. I’ll always
bet on America. Here’s wishing all of you a healthy and prosperous
2013.

“I’ve started a dozen companies, some of them very successful, but if you think there is
anything harder or more rewarding than raising a family, there isn’t.
They have been my ultimate start-up.” – Ron Morris, Entrepreneur.
