Fiscal cliff….tick, tick, tick
“Government is a function of budget”. This is a great quote and I can’t remember where
I first heard it, but what a profound statement. One would think that
the same technologies that are common and time tested in our banking
system would be common place in our tax collection and distribution
system.
We are a few days away from 2013 and the financial stability of all American
taxpayers comes down to communication between our political leaders.
We’ve been hearing about the financial cliff. We’ve been hearing that
it’s very complicated.
It’s not. It requires communication. Here’s another quote that’s a favorite of mine.
“When all forms of communication fail, use words.” Another great quote,
author unknown. The fiscal cliff is self inflicted. It is not because
of a shortage of tax revenues. It is because those that are responsible
for the distribution of those tax dollars share a common flaw.
They can’t talk to each other. Forget the rhetoric. The ‘cliff’ is a communications
problem.
